Fuel filter housing cracked on a Freightliner outside Tulsa
Last month I was doing a routine PM on a 2019 Cascadia at the yard and found coolant weeping under the secondary filter housing. Turned out the plastic housing had stress cracks from a bad winter install, and it was slowly leaking down the block. I swapped in a new metal housing kit for about $180 and used a torque wrench at 25 ft-lbs instead of guessing. Has anyone else seen these plastic housings fail after a couple of hard freeze cycles, or am I the only one dealing with this in the Midwest?
