Had a 6.7 quit on me outside Amarillo and the fix was a $12 part I almost skipped
Was hauling a load down I-40 near Amarillo about two weeks back and the truck just died at a rest stop, no warning, cranked fine but wouldn't fire. Pulled the codes and got a low fuel pressure reading, so I'm thinking lift pump or worse. Turned out the fuel filter housing had a tiny hairline crack letting air in, guy at the parts counter in town handed me a new o-ring kit for 12 bucks and said he sees it all the time on high mile trucks. Slapped it on in the parking lot, bled the system, fired right up. Anybody else run into those housings cracking or did I just get lucky catching it early?
