Vent: $4,200 injector job got ruined by a 15 cent o-ring
Pulled a full set of injectors on a Freightliner Cascadia outside Sacramento last Tuesday. Fresh remans, torqued everything to spec, fired it up and it ran rough as hell with fuel pissing down the side of the head. Turns out one of the copper washers had a hairline crack I missed during install. That was a full afternoon of tear down, new washers from a diesel shop 40 miles away, and a second flush of the high pressure lines. My boss just shook his head and said "injectors don't fail, installers do." Cost me a whole day and my pride. Has anyone else had a tiny seal or washer completely wreck a big job like this, and what do you do to catch it before the reinstall?
