A gallery owner in Denver told me my digital pieces were 'too clean' to show, and now I can't stop thinking about it
I showed a gallery owner in Denver 12 of my digital paintings last week, and she passed on all of them. She tapped one screen and asked if I ever draw by hand first, because the lines were so smooth they felt like a template instead of a choice. Now I'm stuck between two sides: digital art is its own thing and shouldn't have to fake rough edges, or the best digital work still carries a human mark somewhere. I keep wondering if I'm defending my style or just my ego lol. If you make digital art, do you add texture on purpose, or do you let it stay clean and call that the point?
