A guy at the Denver art meetup told me to zoom out to 25% before picking colors
I was at a digital art meetup in Denver last month and a guy named Rob watched me struggle with a piece for 20 minutes. He said to shrink my canvas to 25% before picking any colors because the tiny view shows if the values actually read. I tried it on my next painting and the whole thing looked muddy and gray at that size, so I fixed the contrast and it finally worked. Now I do the zoom out check every 15 minutes or so. Anyone else have a weird habit like this that actually saves a piece?
