Appreciation post: Finally stopped overworking my digital paintings after 2 years

I used to spend 8 hours on a single piece layering textures and fixing tiny flaws nobody would ever notice. Last month I timed myself and did a full character portrait in 2.5 hours by just sticking to three brushes and one main layer style. That's a huge shift for me since I started digital art in 2021 with a $50 tablet. Has anyone else had a moment where simplifying actually made your art look better?

Is it really that deep though, @ray_patel27? I mean people have been calling others lazy for years and life goes on. Sure, maybe sometimes it's a bit more complicated than that, but not every little thing needs a whole breakdown. You're acting like you just uncovered some big secret about human nature.
