Found out at the Denver art fair last weekend that my tablet pen pressure was set wrong for 6 months
Some random guy looked at my piece on my screen and asked if I was using a 2018 driver. I said no and he pointed out my brush strokes were all flat. Checked my settings and the pressure curve was totally linear. Fixed it mid-show and my next sketch looked way better. Has anyone else had a dumb setting mess up their work for way too long?

Wait, so you were basically drawing with a brick for half a year and didn't notice? That's like me finding out my coffee maker has been set to "warm" instead of "brew" for three months, just pouring hot water on grounds and wondering why it tastes like sadness. I swear, I had my contrast turned all the way down on my monitor for two years before someone asked why my colors looked like a faded 90s photo. It's always the little settings that sneak up on you, right? At least you caught it mid-show instead of mid-commission, silver linings and all that.

Actually the coffee thing is way worse because you're actively wasting coffee. Drawing with wrong settings still produces work, even if it's a bit off. At least your monitor story proves it's probably more common than people admit.
