Found out my tablet color calibration was off by 800 kelvin

I kept wondering why my sunset pieces looked great on my tablet but muddy on my phone. After 4 months of frustration, I finally borrowed a colorimeter from a friend who does print work. Turned out the factory default white point was way too cool, like 9500K when it should be around 6500K. I ran the calibration tool last Tuesday and the difference is night and day. My oranges pop now and my skin tones finally look like actual skin instead of plastic. I had no idea tablets drift that hard from the factory, guess I just assumed they were set right. Has anyone else checked their device's white point or are we all just trusting the out of box settings?

Damn, 800 kelvin is huge... that's like the difference between daylight and a candle. No wonder your stuff looked off, that's wild they'd ship it like that.
