Hit 500 followers on my art page and it messed with my head more than I expected
I was stuck at like 80 followers for over a year just posting my digital paintings whenever. Then one piece I did of a rainy street scene at 3 AM somehow got shared in a big group and I jumped to 500 in like 3 days. It felt weird because none of my other stuff before that got any attention and I started second guessing if that piece was just a fluke. Has anyone else hit a random milestone that made them question their whole style?

Oh totally feel you on this! Something similar happened to me with a photo I took of my dog looking all dramatic in the rain. It got like 600 likes on Instagram and my other stuff barely gets 20. Made me wonder if I should just post more dog pics instead of the landscapes I actually enjoy. The weirdest part is now I catch myself trying to recreate that same accidental vibe and it never works the same way.

For me it helped to just separate the two things. I have a separate account for my fun pet photos where I don't care about likes and keep my main one for landscapes. That way I don't feel pressured to chase that accidental hit. It also helped me relax about numbers because I realized the dog photo was just a lucky moment not a sign I should switch gears. Have you tried keeping two feeds or just posting what you love without checking stats for a week?
