Hit 500 uploads on my art portfolio last Tuesday and it scared me straight

I was just counting my pieces for a client call when I realized I had 501 pieces on my DeviantArt gallery. That was a shock because I thought I was around 300. It made me stop and look at the quality of my older stuff and honestly half of it is trash lol. I spent the weekend archiving the bad early sketches and tutorials that dont hold up. Now I'm wondering do you guys ever prune your old work or just let it sit there forever?

Archiving the early stuff is smart because looking at old bad work can mess with your head when you're trying to move forward. I keep mine in a hidden folder on my hard drive just in case I ever want to laugh at my mistakes or recycle an old concept that wasn't executed well. Out of sight but not gone forever feels like the best middle ground to me (I've been burned deleting things I later wished I had for reference).

Yeah deleting stuff you might need later is a real thing. I do the hidden folder trick too because I've definitely gone back and pulled a composition I hated at the time and made it work for something else. Keeps the public page clean but nothing gets lost forever.
