Hit exactly 1,000 followers on my art page yesterday and honestly I think it's a fluke

Most of them probably just followed for one fanart piece I did of a niche game character, and now I feel weird about posting anything else because they'll all be expecting more of the same.

Yeah, the 'one specific thing' followers are a real thing. Now you're the 'that game character artist' forever unless you lean into it and do more.

Is it possible that you're overthinking the whole "niche game character artist" label, though? @the_gray makes a solid point about leaning into it, but maybe those 1,000 people followed because they liked your actual art style, not just the subject matter.
