My gallery slideshow started playing my camera roll instead

I was presenting a client's portfolio at a small gallery opening in Austin last Friday, and about halfway through my laptop froze. When it rebooted, the projector showed my phone's camera roll synced to the TV, so the crowd got 45 seconds of blurry cat photos and a screenshot of my grocery list. I just stood there and said "this is the B-side reel" while I fumbled to close the window, and somehow two people laughed instead of leaving. Has anyone else had a syncing disaster bite them at a live show, or am I the only one who forgets to turn off AirPlay before presenting?
