My Wacom tablet pen died mid-commission and I had no backup

I was 3 hours into a digital portrait for a client in Austin when the pen just stopped responding. Turns out the internal wire snapped from being dropped one too many times. Anyone else keep a backup pen or am I just unlucky?

I mean, maybe it's just me but have you thought about those bluetooth pens that don't rely on a wire? I dropped mine going up stairs last month and it still works fine.

Bluetooth pens still need batteries, so they're not completely wire-free.
