Seriously, the grind culture in digital art is doing more harm than good
I mean, everyone acts like you have to work yourself to the bone to make good art, but that just isn't true for me. Setting a timer to walk away from the screen for a bit each hour totally changed how my pieces turn out.

Actually I was just listening to a podcast that talked about this. They had some science person on who said our brains literally stop seeing problems creatively if we stare at them too long without a break. Like you said, walking away for a few minutes lets you come back and actually see the piece fresh. That whole hustle non-stop idea just burns out the part of your mind that makes interesting art, doesn't it?

Yeah exactly. Hit a wall last month trying to fix a tricky composition. Just kept staring at it for hours. Made everything worse. My fix was to go make a stupid sandwich or just walk outside for ten minutes. Something about the physical movement and not looking at the problem. Lets your brain reset. Came back and saw the solution right away. That grind culture stuff is a trap, you can't force creative fixes.
