Shoutout to the guy at the art fair who changed my mind about using AI tools

I was chatting with this older illustrator at the Austin Fine Art Festival last weekend, and he told me he uses AI to rough out background textures before he paints over them. He said 'it's just another brush, man' and that hit me different cause I always thought AI was cheating. Has anyone else here flipped on using AI in their digital work after talking to someone?

Oh man, I know the feeling. I once spent three weeks on a watercolor piece, got offered $50 for it on Etsy, and sold it anyway. Broke my own artistic heart for a burrito bowl combo. Pure artistic integrity, right there. My "purity" is more like a stained coffee mug at this point. Can't really judge someone for cashing in when rent's due.
