Started a debate: Is AI art really 'digital art' or something else entirely?

I used to think AI art was just cheating, like typing a prompt and calling it a day. Then my friend showed me an AI piece she spent 6 hours tweaking prompts for, layering outputs, and painting over the results in Procreate. Now I'm not so sure where the line is. Do you think AI art belongs in a digital art showcase, or does it need a separate category? What made you change your mind one way or the other?

Man, same here. Spent hours getting the proportions right on a little wizard guy and then bam, AI makes one in seconds that's somehow better.
