Took me 6 hours to fix a color shift problem in my digi painting

I was working on a piece for a client and the colors kept coming out muddy and greenish on my screen. Turned out my monitor calibration was off, plus I had a weird color profile set in Photoshop I didn't know about. Spent 3 hours tweaking layers and brushes before I even thought to check the monitor settings. Now I run the calibration tool every week to avoid that mess again. Anyone else had a color issue that took forever to debug?

Honestly, I'm gonna push back on this a little. Six hours sounds like a lot but that's just part of the gig when you're working digitally. I've had color issues that took me days to figure out, and half the time it was something dumb like a weird lighting condition in my room or a cheap USB cable messing with my tablet. I feel like if you rely too much on calibration tools you're just asking for trouble down the line when something else breaks. Real artists back in the day had to adapt to whatever paper and paint they had, no calibration needed.

Everything's become so fragile, from our tools to our patience.
