Question about Google Ads vs Meta Ads: one of them actually made my client money
Honestly I ran the same $1,500 budget on Google Search and Meta for a local plumber in Mesa over 60 days, and the gap was not close. Google brought 41 calls at about $36 each, Meta brought 9 leads at $166 each and half of them never answered the phone. The difference was intent, plain and simple. Someone typing "emergency plumber Mesa" is already in trouble, while someone scrolling gets hit with my ad mid-laugh at a dog video. Tbh Meta can still work but you need a real offer and a follow up system, not just a boosted post with a phone number. Ngl I see agencies push Meta first because the dashboards look pretty and the reach number is huge. Has anyone here gotten Meta to beat search for a service business, or is it just a money pit unless you sell cheap stuff?
My cousin runs a bait and tackle shop up in Payson and he blew like $800 on Meta last spring trying to sell guided fishing trips. Got a ton of likes and shares from people three states away who thought the lake pics were pretty, but the only bookings came from a $12 yard sign he threw up near the boat ramp. What finally worked was running a cheap video of him actually catching bass on the lake, not a graphic with dates and prices. Took him three tries before he stopped wasting cash on the pretty stuff.
