Serious question, is posting daily actually hurting my reach? A client's cousin got in my head about it
I met a guy named Dave at a coffee shop near my office in Akron about 9 days ago. He runs social for a small chain and swore that posting 5 times a week tanks your reach now. He pulled out his phone and showed me his own page, 12k followers, and his daily posts barely moved past 900 views. His claim was the platform punishes accounts that post too often because it spreads the audience thin. I sat there nodding but honestly it bugged me. My own page has 3,400 followers and I post once a day, and engagement has been flat for 4 months. So I tried his way and cut back to twice a week for the past week. My reach dropped around 30 percent. Now I think his advice was backwards for a page my size. Anyone else get told to post less and find it backfired? What did you actually change after that?
