Dropped $200 on a co-working membership I barely used for 2 weeks
I signed up for a fancy co-working spot in Medellin thinking I'd be super productive, but the WiFi was slower than my hostel and I ended up working from a cafe down the street anyway. Anybody else fall for the hype of paying for a desk you don't end up needing?

Man that sucks. I feel you on this one. Dropping two hundred bucks and getting nothing out of it hurts. I did the same thing once in Bangkok. Nice looking place but the power kept cutting out and the air conditioning was weak. Ended up just working from my hotel lobby for free. It's a bummer when you try to do the right thing and it backfires. Hope you can find a better spot or at least get some use out of the membership before it runs out.

I get that you ended up not using it, but "fell for the hype" is a stretch. Those memberships work great when the WiFi is solid and you actually need a quiet desk to focus. Sounds like you just picked a bad location in Medellin. My coworking spot in Mexico City has fast internet, real coffee, and I get more done in 4 hours there than a full day at home. Maybe try a different spot or just buy day passes before committing to the full month.
