My portable monitor died mid-flight over Guatemala

I was in Antigua finishing a client proposal when my USB-C monitor just flickered and went black for good. The WiFi at my hostel was spotty so I had to rewrite the whole thing on my phone with thumbs. Has anyone found a rugged monitor that actually survives travel backpacks?

Take what @nora54 said with a grain of salt though - a lot of monitors just can't handle the constant jostling in a backpack.

Oh man, that is straight up brutal. Did the screen just give out completely or was it flickering for a while before? I've had an external drive die on me in a tiny hotel in Costa Rica and that was bad enough, I can't imagine rewriting a whole proposal on a phone. It's like the universe picks the worst possible times to break stuff. Hope you found a way to get it out and still hit your deadline.
