Question about coworking spaces in Chiang Mai - used to think they were overpriced
I always rolled my eyes at paying $150 a month for a desk when I could just work from a cafe for the cost of a coffee. But after 3 weeks of bad wifi, loud tourists, and spilled drinks on my laptop, I gave in and tried Punspace last Thursday. Honestly the quiet, the reliable power, and actual desk space made me get more done in 2 days than I did all week before. Has anyone else caved and found it worth it?

I paid $80 for a month at a place called CAMP up in Maya mall last year and honestly it was fine. No frills but solid wifi and nobody spills drinks on your stuff. I get why people like Punspace but $150 still feels steep when you can find reliable spots for half that. The key is just avoiding the super touristy cafes where people are loud and the wifi craps out at 3pm every day. I think a lot of folks overpay for the "coworking vibe" when a quiet corner of a proper cafe or a library does the same job.

Yeah Punspace is cool but $150 a month is actually a bit of a stretch for most places here. Last time I checked Punspace was more like $120 for their basic plan and even that includes the lockers and free water. But I hear you on the cafe thing, I fried my motherboard at a Starbucks in Nimman when a barista knocked a latte right onto my keyboard. That was a $400 mistake right there. The coworking places will save you that kind of headache for sure, and the internet never drops during a Zoom call.
