Spent $250 on a portable monitor for cafes in Lisbon and it was either genius or a total waste
It works great for coding and spreadsheets but I feel kinda ridiculous hauling it around. Are there better setups for working mobile that don't scream 'look at my gear'?

Oh man, I saw a video about this the other day where a guy strapped a tablet to his laptop lid with velcro and it looked way less "look at my gear" than a separate monitor. Your $250 setup is probably way cleaner for actually getting work done though. I think the trick is to get something like a 14 inch tablet you already own and use it as a second screen with an app, but then you're hauling a tablet charger too. Honestly, if the monitor is thin and you can slide it into a laptop sleeve, nobody will really notice. The people judging are probably the ones with five dongles hanging out of their bag.
