TIL my visa extension in Bangkok took 14 days, not the 3 I budgeted for
Got the paperwork wrong twice. Had to find a new place to print documents because my Airbnb printer died. Ended up paying a local fixer $120 to sort it. Anyone else have a simple admin task blow up their work schedule?

That "simple admin task" line hits hard. We all plan for the best case and forget how brittle the system is when you're a visitor. You're dealing with rules you don't know, tech that can fail, and no backup. Makes you wonder why they make it so hard for people who are just trying to follow the law.

Ugh, that sounds like a total nightmare. It's crazy how one small thing like a printer breaking can throw everything off when you're in a new place. You're just stuck trying to figure out a system you don't understand, and of course it always takes longer than they say. That $120 is painful, but sometimes you just hit a wall and need someone who knows the ropes. Makes you want to pull your hair out, doesn't it?
