Why does nobody talk about how much a bad chair messes up your whole workday in Lisbon
I spent my first two months in Lisbon working from a cafe chair that was way too low for the tables and I just dealt with it. My back hurt every single day and I kept blaming it on walking up all those hills in Alfama. Then a guy from Canada who was sitting next to me asked why I was hunched over like that and pointed out my elbows were way below the table. I moved to a different spot the next day with a normal height chair and the back pain was gone in like three days. Two months of dealing with that for nothing, and it never once crossed my mind that the furniture was the problem. I think when you move around a lot you just accept whatever setup you land in and never stop to question it. Now I check the chair height before I even open my laptop anywhere. Has anyone else moved spots just because the seating was wrecking them?
hunched over like that" is so real. I did the same thing at a spot in Bairro Alto for weeks, just sat there dying and thought it was my posture. Moved one table over and the chair was like two inches higher, back pain gone. Now I actually look at the chair before I sit down anywhere.
