A scheduler in Denver told me to ask for my accommodations in writing before the meeting, not during it
I got denied twice for the same request until I emailed HR 4 days ahead with one line citing the ADA and asked for a written response, and suddenly it was approved in 2 days, so has anyone else had better luck putting the ask in writing first instead of talking it out live?
Did you notice a big difference in how fast they responded once it was in writing? I used to roll my eyes at the "put it in writing" thing and thought it was just a way to make people jump through hoops. Then I tried it myself for a different ask and got a yes in like 3 days after weeks of getting nowhere in person. Having that paper trail with a date on it just makes it harder for them to ignore you or say they never got the request.
