Found a simple way to make my wheelchair ramp more grippy when it rains

I live in Portland and my wooden ramp gets super slick when it's wet, which is almost always. I tried those stick-on grip tape strips from the hardware store but they peeled off after a week. Then I found this product called Grip-Rite anti-skid additive, it's like $12 a bottle, and you mix it into regular deck paint. I painted one coat on last month and it's been solid through all the rain so far. Anyone else found a cheap fix for slippery ramps?

Wait, hold up. You're telling me that stuff actually works after a freeze-thaw cycle? I've tried three different brands of that anti-skid additive and every single one turned into a slick mess by February. I figured it was just a gimmick for people in warm climates who don't know what real rain looks like.

How long before you gotta repaint with that stuff? I ask cause I've seen some of those additives break down after a few months in the sun, even if the paint holds up fine. Does the texture stay grippy after a good freeze-thaw cycle, or does it get that weird slick film again like the typical anti-skid stuff does?
