Friend in a wheelchair pointed out how ramps are often an afterthought

We were grabbing coffee downtown and she mentioned that most ramps make her take a longer route than everyone else, like the design was just checked off a list. Made me think about how accessibility should be part of the first draft, not a patch later.

Yeah, "checked off a list" is exactly it. I went to a park with my buddy last month and the ramp to the main path was this narrow, weirdly placed thing that dumped you out behind a trash can. Had to go all the way around just to meet up with us. Like someone drew a line on a blueprint and called it good.
