Showerthought: the ramp into my kid's school got blocked by a delivery truck and I finally got why ramps alone are not access
Last Tuesday at 8:15am I was pushing my neighbor Marcus up the ramp at Lincoln Elementary in his wheelchair and a Sysco truck was parked right across the bottom of it, so he had to sit there while I went inside to find someone to move it. Turned out there is no rule about keeping that ramp clear, so I emailed the principal and two school board members with a photo and they added it to the pickup and drop off policy at the meeting 9 days later. Does anyone know a good way to find out which ramps and curb cuts in their town have no parking enforcement, because I want to map the ones near us before winter?

Something people forget is that a blocked ramp is not just a wheelchair problem. Parents with strollers, kids on crutches, the lunch lady hauling boxes on a hand truck, all of them hit that same wall. So when you map the curb cuts, try to note what usually sits in them at different times of day. A ramp can be wide open at 7am and totally buried by 3pm when every parent is double parked waiting for their kid. Timing matters as much as location.
