Spent $300 on a specialized keyboard and it saved my wrists big time

I have tendonitis from years of typing at work and was getting to the point where I couldn't finish a shift without pain. My doctor suggested trying an ergonomic split keyboard, so I bit the bullet on a Kinesis Freestyle Pro for about $300. It took me a full two weeks to get used to the layout, but now my wrists barely hurt at all. Has anyone else tried these or found cheaper alternatives that actually work?

Did you try tenting them or just flat?

Tenting works but you have to watch out for condensation pooling in the center. I started putting a folded paper towel under the tent during the last few days to soak up any sweat. It stopped a few of mine from getting that sour smell they get when they stay too wet.
