The library downtown finally got automatic doors last spring

I had been going to the main library branch on 4th Street for about 8 years. Every visit meant waiting for someone else to open the heavy glass door or struggling with it myself. When they finally installed the push button openers in March, it felt like a small weight I didn't know I was carrying just disappeared. Has anyone else had a regular spot change something small like that and totally shift how you feel about going there?

Small wins like that make a big difference" - tell me about it. I was at the grocery store last week and they finally fixed the squeaky cart wheel that always made that horrible sound down aisle 3, and I almost teared up a little. You know you're getting old when automatic doors and quiet shopping carts are your main sources of joy. I'm honestly surprised the library didn't install them sooner though, I thought I was just weak for years struggling with those doors. Now I feel like a VIP every time I walk in, like I've finally graduated from door-pushing peasantry or something.

Man, that's such a simple thing but it really does change everything. It's like your brain just relaxes a little bit when you show up and know you won't have to fight with the door. I'm glad they finally did that for the library, too many places still have those old heavy doors that are a pain for anyone. Small wins like that make a big difference in how you feel about a place you gotta go to regular. It's good they're actually thinking about people for once.
