My $3 hose clamp saved a 40 mile ride last Sunday

Last Sunday I was 15 miles from home when my shifter cable slipped right out of the anchor bolt, no tools on me. A random motorist gave me a zip tie but that only lasted 2 miles, so I stopped at a gas station and found a loose hose clamp in their scrap bin for free. Anyone else carry tiny spares like that or am I just a hoarder now?
