PSA: Cheap tire levers are false economy, snapped 3 in one parking lot
Bought a 12 pack of those generic plastic levers online for $8 and lost all three fixing a flat at the Shell station off I-90 near Spokane. The metal core ones from my local shop cost $6 each but that was after I wasted an hour and my patience. Has anyone else just given up and gone back to the old steel style?
Learned this same lesson with kitchen knives, cheap ones feel fine until the day they don't and you're stuck halfway through dinner. The $8 pack of levers is really just a $8 ticket to a bad afternoon, since the savings only exist on paper until you actually need the tool to work. Buy the one good lever, keep it in your bag, and forget it's even there until the day it saves you.
