PSA: spent 3 months adjusting my rear derailleur by ear before realizing the hanger was bent
Bought an $8 alignment gauge at a shop in Boise and it was off by like 4mm the whole time, which is why my shifting never held past second gear. Anyone else chase a ghost like this for way too long before checking the frame side first?
