Threw away $150 on a cheap bottom bracket tool kit that stripped after two uses

Picked up one of those no-name 20-in-1 kits off Amazon back in March. Figured it would save me some cash for a simple cartridge bearing swap on my old hybrid. First use was fine. Second use on a different bike and the splines just rounded off inside the tool. Had to borrow a buddy's Park Tool to get the bracket out. The $150 I lost is what I could have spent on a proper tool from the start. Anyone else get burned by those bargain multi-tool sets?

Honestly "threw away $150" feels like a stretch to me lol. If you stripped a cheap tool after two uses, that's annoying but it's not like you lost anything other than the $30 or whatever you actually paid for that Amazon kit. Spending $150 on a single bottom bracket tool is overkill when a solid Park Tool one runs like $40 and will last forever.

Yeah nah you're right honestly, I used to think the same way but this definitely changed my mind.
