Took a neighbor's advice on chain lube and now I'm scrubbing gunk off my frame for the third time this month
Guy down the street swore by using WD-40 as chain lube, said he's done it for years. After two weeks my drivetrain was caked in black sludge and my shifting got sticky. Anyone else run into this or was I supposed to wipe it off differently?

People trust the wrong advice way too much, just like those cheap life hacks online.

My cousin paid $40 for a "life hack" course that told her to clean her microwave with lemon water. It worked, sure, but the same video was free on YouTube from three different channels. She also bought a $25 "egg separator" gadget that's just a plastic bottle with a straw. People are shelling out real money for stuff that's literally just common sense wearing a different outfit.
