Overheard a neighbor say mutant vegetables are 'gross' and I just can't get behind that
She was talking about my three-legged carrot like it was trash, but I think it's the coolest thing I've grown all season. Why is everyone so scared of a little weirdness in the garden? Anyone else here love the freaky stuff more than the pretty stuff?

Oh I totally get you with the "coolest thing I've grown all season" part. People get so weird about anything that looks different from grocery store stuff. But like what exactly made her call it gross? Was she actually looking at it or just making a face from a distance? Because I've had neighbors do the same thing and when I actually showed them the carrot they were like oh wait that's kinda neat. I bet if she saw yours up close she'd change her mind. So was she just being snobby or did she give a real reason?

That "three-legged carrot" part made me smile but actually carrots don't have legs, they're roots.
