Bought a $12 heat gun at Harbor Freight for my foam armor and it saved my EVA build
I've been building a Mandalorian chest piece out of EVA foam for about three weeks now. My first attempt at shaping the shoulder plates looked like a sad pancake because I was just using a hair dryer from the bathroom. I finally dropped $12 on a cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight last Saturday and the difference was insane. The foam actually holds the curve now and I can press seams flat without fighting it. I went through two sheets of foam before this, so that heat gun basically paid for itself in saved material. Has anyone else used a heat gun on foam and do you have tips for keeping the edges from curling up too much?
