Foam clay vs Apoxie sculpt for filling armor seams, my 3 month test
I was making a sci-fi chest piece and the gap where the two main halves met kept cracking every time I moved. Tried hot glue first, looked awful. Then I used foam clay, sanded it flat, but it still flexed and peeled off after a couple of wears. Switched to Apoxie Sculpt for the same seam, cost me $18 for a small tub, but it sanded smooth and held up through three convention days in Phoenix. Downside is the working time is short, maybe 15 minutes, so you gotta mix small batches. Anybody else have a trick for making those big flat seams invisible without the filler shrinking later?
