Had a stupid idea about using a pasta maker for leather straps, and it actually worked
So last Thursday I was making a leather harness for my cyberpunk character and I was dreading cutting 12 identical straps by hand. My kitchenaid pasta roller was sitting on the counter from making ravioli the night before, and I figured why not run the leather through the widest setting. It flattened the 4mm veg tan down to about 3mm and gave me a super even thickness, then I used the cutter attachment to slice perfect 1 inch strips in one pass. Took me maybe 15 minutes for the whole set versus the hour I usually spend with a rotary cutter and ruler. Has anyone else repurposed kitchen gear for armor work, or is my wife right that I need to keep the pasta stuff in the kitchen?
