Hot glue gun explosion on my EVA foam chest plate

Was shaping a chest piece in my garage last night and the glue gun tip clogged, then burst when I pushed it. Glue shot everywhere, including onto my cat who bolted and knocked over my pattern templates. Took me 20 minutes to peel it off him, and 3 tries to redo the seam. Anyone else had a glue gun mishap wreck their whole build session?

Damn, that sucks. But honestly, how the hell did you not notice the cat was that close to your workbench? Every time I'm doing any hot glue work, my dog is three rooms away because I know that shits gonna fly. Were you using a low temp gun or the regular one? That makes a huge difference in how bad the clean up is.
