Hot glue on foam armor is a ticking time bomb

I see it all the time in tutorials and at meetups, people bonding EVA foam with hot glue and calling it a day. Did that for my first Mando kit back in 2021, and by the third wear, the seams split right down the back plate. Hot glue stays soft and flexes differently than the foam, so any bending or sitting cracks it fast. You need contact cement, like Barge or Weldwood, brushed on both sides and pressed after it dries tacky. It costs about 12 bucks a can and lasts through a whole weekend of posing and stairs. Am I the only one who thinks hot glue belongs on crafts, not costume builds? What do you use when you need a bond that survives a crowded floor?
