Heat gun warped the whole thing in about 10 seconds flat because he never mentioned you gotta seal it with Plasti Dip first, so now I'm sitting in my garage in Dayton staring at a lumpy gray blob that was supposed to be done for C2E2 in 3 weeks, has anyone actually saved a warped foam piece or do I just start over?
Plasti Dip isn't even the real fix here, the foam itself matters way more. That cheap 2mm craft stuff from Michaels takes heat like a paper bag, but the good 10mm EVA from TNT Cosplay or even a yoga mat holds up way better. If the warp is minor you can hit it with a heat gun on low and press it flat between two boards, but 10 seconds of full blast usually means the cells are cooked and it's done.
