Serious question, why do people seal EVA foam before heat shaping it?
I kept seeing tutorials where people plasti dip or glue seal their foam sheets right out of the package, then try to heat form them. Did it that way for my Mandalorian chest piece last month and the seal cracked along every curve, plus the foam got stiff and fought me on the bends. Switched to shaping everything raw with a heat gun first, seals and paint only after all the forming was done, and the same 6mm sheets from Michael's bent like butter with zero cracking. Wasted about $30 of foam and a weekend before I figured that out. Curious if anyone here seals first on purpose for a reason I'm missing.
