Two months of wet sanding my foam armor paid off big time
I spent about 60 hours over 6 weeks hand sanding a Halo Spartan chest piece with 220, then 400, then 1000 grit paper. The difference between the bumpy primer coat and that final gloss finish was insane made it look like real plastic. Has anyone tried using a Dremel for the rough stuff to save time?

Yeah, I'd be careful with a Dremel on foam though. It'll melt the surface real quick if you're not using the lowest speed setting and keeping it moving. Maybe stick to hand sanding for the final passes, the Dremel is just asking for a heat warped finish.

Friend of mine tried the high speed on foam once, totally messed up a full days work with that melted plastic mess. @laura_white99 is spot on about keeping it moving, but I saw her switch to a rasp and file for the cleanup and it saved the whole thing. Hand tools really are the safer bet when you're that close to being done.
