3 years I fought with a rats nest under my desk, last week one zip tie rail fixed it
I kept buying bigger cable sleeves and fancy clips thinking the problem was the cables themselves. Then I saw a guy at a coffee shop just run everything along a simple adhesive channel under his desk and it hit me - I was fighting the wrong enemy, just mounting stuff flat to the underside cleaned it up in 10 minutes. Anyone else overthink cable management until a random observation humbled you?

Oh man, I bought a whole box of those velcro strap rolls thinking I was being clever, only to realize I was just making a really organized rat's nest. Took me a solid year and a random YouTube short of someone cable-managing a server rack to figure out the same thing you did.

Haha yeah that's exactly what I did too, bought a giant spool thinking I was some kind of cable management genius and just ended up with a tangled mess of velcro straps everywhere. Did you try any of those little clip-on cable combs before you figured out the zigzag method?
