Appreciation post: my buddy said skip the $89 sit-stand legs and just raise the whole desk with 4x4 posts
I laughed at him when he said it last fall, because who builds legs out of fence posts. But my back was killing me after 6 hours of paperwork at my desk in Boise, so I finally tried it. Four posts cut to 28 inches, some lag bolts, a sheet of 3/4 plywood across the back for a brace, total came to $41 at the hardware store. Desk sits solid as a rock and my chair slides right under it. Now I'm wondering if anyone else has gone this route, or did I just get lucky that it doesn't wobble?
