Guy at a surplus store showed me a $5 trick for cable management
I was digging through a bin of old power strips at a surplus shop in Portland last month. An older guy next to me picked up a bundle of Velcro strips and said 'these are better than any zip tie you own.' He wasn't wrong. I grabbed ten of them for $5 and spent the afternoon cleaning up the mess behind my desk. Now my monitor cables actually run along the desk legs instead of dangling like spaghetti. Has anyone else found a cheap fix like that that worked way better than the fancy stuff?

Whoa, hold up. Velcro strips are fine and all, but I've been using old shoelaces for years on my desk. You just cut off the aglets and they hold cables tight without that sticky backing that gets dusty and fails after a few months. Plus they're basically free if you have a pair of sneakers you're about to toss anyway.
