I counted 312 zip ties under my desk and I am not proud of it
Last Saturday I finally decided to clean up the cable nest under my desk in my apartment in Phoenix. I grabbed a trash bag and started cutting zip ties, and somewhere around the 40 minute mark I stopped and counted the little stubs in the bag. 312. I had been adding one or two every time I plugged something in for close to 2 years without ever cutting the old ones off. Now I use velcro strips and I can actually see the wall behind my monitor. How many ties are hiding under your desk right now?
Man, 312 is wild but I totally get how it happens. You just keep adding one more cable and figure you'll deal with the old ties later, and later never comes. I switched to velcro too and the best part is you can pull a cable out and redo it in 10 seconds without hunting for the scissors. My setup still has maybe 15 or 20 old zip ties buried in there that I'm too lazy to dig out, so what finally made you snap and clean the whole thing?
