I finally picked a standing desk converter over a full height-adjustable desk
After about 3 months of back pain from sitting too long at my home desk, I started looking into standing options. I was torn between a $200 converter that sits on top of my existing desk and a full $500 frame with a new top. I went with the converter because my current desk is solid oak and I didn't want to replace it. It took about 20 minutes to set up and honestly it works fine for my needs. The only downside is the keyboard tray is a little cramped. Has anyone else made this choice and regretted it later?

Man @taraj11 nailed it with the wider keyboard tray thing. I actually wish I had thought about monitor placement more too. My converter has a fixed height for the screens so I cant tilt them down when standing. It forces me to crane my neck a bit which is its own kind of soreness. On the plus side my back pain from sitting all day is pretty much gone now. So no regrets but I totally get the little annoyances.

The converter was the right call for me too. My old desk is solid wood and I just couldn't see getting rid of it. Only thing I'd change is getting one with a wider keyboard tray if I had to do it again.
